Medieval Museum at Lemesos Castle

Inside the Medieval Museum at Lemesos Castle, exhibits include all kinds of historic castle treasures and artefacts, as well as some medieval and Byzantine items from the former Lefkosia Medieval Museum, which were moved here in 1974, following the events of the Turkish independence. The themed exhibits are spread around a number of different chambers and rooms, and include some well-preserved Ottoman pottery pieces, golden ecclesiastical relics, suits of armour, weaponry and more. Within the spacious Grand Hall, look out for the historic photographs of Byzantine sites located throughout Cyprus. And before you end your visit, do take a climb to the rooftop terrace and enjoy the wonderful cityscape views.

Archaeological Museum

Housing a large and impressive collection of ceramics and pottery, the Limassol Archaeological Museum is well worth a look, particularly if you are looking for something a little different to sunbathing on the beaches and dancing at the nightclubs. Particular archaeological highlights here include an array of historical items dating as far back as the Chalcolithic (Copper Age) and Neolithic (New Stone Age) periods, as well as some Mycenaean pottery, terracotta figurines, old oil lamps and glassware.

Municipal Folk Art Museum

A beautiful collection of Cyprus Folk Art of 19th and early 20th century is exhibited in a restored old house.

Kourion Archeological Museum

Opening hours: Monday-Friday 9-14:30
Largest collection of icons on the island, covering the period from 9th to 18th century AD. The Art Galleries contain oil paintings, maps and lithographs.
